Weight loss surgery: Weight loss surgery today can safely be performed when the patient has had prior abdominal or stomach surgery. This is best a discussion with your weight loss surgeon and a preoperative upper GI to determine your exact stomach anatomy. The previously placed g-tube could make a sleeve or a bypass more complicated, but not impossible to perform. A lap band would likely be easier to place.
