Pain!: There could be many things including a groin hernia , hip fracture, avascular necrosis of hip , cancer, referred pain from back, or abdomen, trauma, infection. So you need to be more specific about your pain to get a more accurate answer.

Need 2b specific: There are many possible causes of hip and groin pain. In order to narrow the list of possible diagnoses you need to be more specific about your pain - how long are you suffering?, when in the day is it happening?, what helps it? What makes it worse? Etc. Generally speaking, for 'terrible pain' i would of to see a doctor asap.
