How to get a toddler to sleep in a dark room?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Why?: After birth, visual input becomes a comforting source of information for a child. They often sleep best in a room with enough light that they know where they are if they wake up. Different from adults, their comfort often comes from having recognizable sounds & sights near them as they drift to sleep or try to resettle in the night. Let your child have a nightlight. It's developmentally normal.
