Please explain rotator cuff pain on left arm and shoulder?

See below: The rotator cuff consists of four muscles and is the primary mechansim of rotatory movement of the arm (think of throwing). The mechanism is a complicated system of loaded/camed pulleys. With overuse (and age) the tendons become rough and inflammation set in resulting in pain.
