Bulls eye rash: One of the earliest signs that lyme disease has been contracted is a rash that has clearing in the center, or appears as a ring. In this case getting treatment quickly should result in a shorter course of treatment. Symptoms of chronic lyme are: fatigue, insomnia, headaches, confusion or brain fog, joint pain & stiffness, tingling & numbness, weakness and many more symptoms that tend to come & go.

Bullseye rash, varies: The most obvious sign is the bullseye rash dr. Rinker mentions, but at least half of those with lyme don't have this, so its absence does not mean you don't have it. More common than observable signs are symptoms- initially flu-like, then variable joint pains (esp. Knees), fatigue, problems with memory etc. Severity is highly variable, from barely any symptoms to totally debilitating- see comment:.
