Lat cutaneous nerve: With symptoms you describe we think of a lateral cutaneous nerve problem. This a nerve that when compressed or injured can give pain, numbness, or tingling in one part of the thigh. The nerve can be compressed by weight changes, or damaged by diabetes/other neuropathies. I suggest getting a through exam by your doc to get at the root cause of your numbness. Best of luck!

See your doctor: It sounds as if you've developed a nerve entrapment of some sort. See your doctor to discover which nerve it is.
