A member asked:

Is it safe to take a higher dose of lamictal than what is normally prescribed?

Depends: It depends on how you titrate up to that dose, how carefully you are being monitored and how experienced and competent the physician who is prescribing. But Lamictal does clearly have a very wide therapeutic range. Some people respond to low doses and others require much higher ones. Ask your doctor about the value of blood levels for you. Watch for cognitive effects at higher doses.
