Resting vs activity: Resting hr for adults ranges 60-100 BPM comparing to a new born of 140-160. Adults with persistent resting hr above 100 is concerning and should be checked out. Cardiovascularly fit (such as long-distance runners) people typically have low heart rate. If no having no bothersome symptoms at all, lower heart at rest is generally better--as we don't have unlimited # of beats. Consult doc. Good luck.
