Merits an evaluation: The variable BP and rapid heartbeat could be due to emotional stress; however, there are other possible underlying causes. This merits a visit to a physician for a careful history, physical exam, blood and urine tests, an EKG, chest X-rays and possibly an echocardiogram; the results of these parameters will enable a decision concerning the cause(s) of the BP and heart rate perturbations.
