Merits an evaluation: The variable BP and rapid heartbeat could be due to emotional stress; however, there are other possible underlying causes. This merits a visit to a physician for a careful history, physical exam, blood and urine tests, an EKG, chest X-rays and possibly an echocardiogram; the results of these parameters will enable a decision concerning the cause(s) of the BP and heart rate perturbations.

Hypertension: Your BP is labile and a reading higher than 130/80 warrants monitoring as well as lifestyle changes. ?family history of hypertension. Don't add salt to foods, reduce caffeine, alcohol,no smoking, get to ideal weight, reduce stress, exercise regularly as tolerated, good sleep helps. If BP spikes continue or fast heart rates persist, see your MD or a cardiologist for appropriate testing and treatment.
