After age 3 months: Newborns sleep 8-9 daytime hours & 8-9 nighttime hours awakening every 3-4 hours to eat. Babies begin sleeping through the night (6-8 hours) at age 3 months.

Depend on a baby: It depends on the baby, some do it almost right away for others it takes a while, most of kids sleep through the night by the time they are 9 months. But it doesn't mean that if they still wake up at night after 9 months that something is wrong with them. Personally mine didn't sleep through the night till they were 3 years old, so i guess there is a bit of luck and some genetics in it.
