Insomnia: It is a sign of change. Maybe your child is worried about something. Separation anxiety? Be patient and persistant, giving love, support, but at the same time be firm, asking him or her to go back to his or her room to sleep.

50% of 5-6 month : Old's sleep 6-8 hours at night, but, half of those babies will night wake after 6 mos. Put him in his crib drowsy but awake at a regular bedtime, then when he night wakes, everything is the same as when he fell asleep. Sadly, if you go in & make eye contact, talk or pick him up, you reinforce the night-waking. See aap.Org for tips if you can't ignore the night crying & let him self-regulate.
