Can be: When one is pregnant or taking hormonal contraception they are in a "hypercoaguable state" meaning that they have a higher than normal risk of forming a blood clot. Other factors may also contribute to the formation of a clot such a genetics, weight, smoking and inactivity making the overall risk even higher.
