A member asked:

What are the odds of the baby surviving in a 90% placental abruption?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: Placental abruption is a condition in which the placenta peels away from the inner wall of the uterus prior to the baby's delivery. When this happens, the baby (and mother) can suffer from excessive blood loss. Additionally, the baby loses its ability to get oxygen. The baby's survival depends on how quickly he can be delivered after abruption occurs.
