Is it best to use antibiotics for my uti infection?

For a few days: By the time you finish a typical short course of antibiotic for a "simple" uncomplicated UTI the urine culture should be back. This helps confirm and guide therapy.

It depends: Antibiotics are used to treat symptoms, signs and culture proven bacterial infections in the urinary tract. There are other causes of ''uti'' type symptoms not necessarily bacterial in origin.
