Gram pos bacteria: Streptococcus agalactiae is part of normal colonic and vaginal flora. It can be transmitted to neonates at birth causing neonatal sepsis. They are gram positive chain forming cocci. This organism causes many different infections in adults including female genital tract infections, pneumonia, endocarditis, septic arthritis, osteomyelitis, skin and soft tissue infections and meningitis.
