Wound Infections...: ...Can occur following any type of surgery: open, laparoscopic, robotic, etc. Staph infections are very common, arising from bacteria that normally reside on our skin. Typical signs include pain, redness, and purulent (pus) drainage. If this sounds familiar, call your surgeon for a follow-up visit asap.

Staph infection: Yes. Since staph is on your skin, any operation can result in a staph infection even if everything was done perfectly.
