what are free radicals and antioxidants good for?

Free radical = bad: Free radicals = bad. Antioxidants = good. Free radicals are unstable molecules which can damage cells and lead to cancer. Antioxidants protect cells for the free radicals.

It's interesting to realize that even a good thing like exercise, can produce free radicals! It's the price of living in an oxygenated environment. :-)

Not for teens: I don't think we know that antioxidants have any effect on skin and therefore wouldn't use them on your teenager.

Yes.: I know of no reason that anyone cannot take antioxidant supplements. Follow the directions and it should be fine!
