Depends on cause...: If a person has bruises with no know cause (not hitting a bike pedal, not running into coffee tables), the a primary care doctor can evaluate to see if there are problems such as fragile capillaries (the tiny blood vessels in the skin break too easily), medication effects (such as too much blood thinning meds), blood clotting deficiencies (bone marrow or liver problems), etc...
