Contaminated fingers: Kids are always scratching & many pick up germs in the environment that stay for hours on their fingernails. One goog scratch can plant several types of germa in a given site. Mrsa accounts for 60-70% of the pustules & abscess i treat in community acquired infections.It is not rare at all.

MRSA: From hands. Mrsa can colonize some patients skin and naao pharynx. Need to treat the active infection with oral and topical abx. Best way to prevent future infections is by bathing in diluted clorox bleach ( one cup bleach in 30 gallons water). Last rinse should be with this diluted water for about 8 weeks.
