Fifth Disease: During the third stage of the disease the rash appears to come and go. There are certain triggers associated with the reappearance of the rash. These triggers include exercise, emotional stress, hot tubs and sunlight. This waxing and waning of the rash can go on for weeks and in some cases months. Therefore a reoccurrence of the rash does not mean that a person developed fifth disease again.

No: Once you have this you become immune and it does not return, whether you are exposed to it or not.It is not like a strep throat that you can have as often as exposed.There are many viral illnesses that can mimic this one, but only one strain of fifth disease.
