Lots to check for!: Abdominal inspection permits assessment of organ size and texture, checks for abnormal abdominal contents, localizes and quantitates tenderness (when present), and in general directs medical attention toward or away from pathology that may originate or not in the abdomen and pelvis (e.g. What tests the doctor will order, or what recommendations he/she may make, next based on your complaints).
