Chronic cough: Chronic cough can be caused by various process: asthma/bronchitis, sinus problem or post nasal drip, reflux disease. Nocturnal( night) cough can be either be caused by postnatal drip or reflux. Reflux can be treated with dietary changes, avoiding eating 3 hours before sleep, keeping head of the bed elevated 30 degrees. Also trial of proton pump inhibitor( i.E prilosec) twice a day for 2 months.
