Tricyclics for pain: Amitryptilline is tricyclics antidepressant that can be used to relieve neuropathic pain. One of the side effects is drowsiness, dry mouth, inability to urinate. These are caused by anticholinergic effects of this drugs. Other tricyclics have less of anticholinergic side effects. These are nortriptilline and disimpramine.
