More info: Need to know your other lipids, especially the 'good' hdl. Hdl is like the dump truck that hauls off the trash. If your HDL is low, you may not have much trash, but it's not getting hauled away, so can clog arteries. Total / HDL ratio should be under 4.

Okay but it needs to: Be looked at in the context of other lipid results. Cholesterol of 187 is normal. What are your hdl, LDL and triglyceride levels?
