You can't: Everyone heals by scarring. A good scar is very difficult to see. Keeping stress off of the scar, using pressure with a silicone pad on the scar can be used. Steroids can be used with or without pressure. Your doctor would be the best one to ask for your situation.

You can't prevent: Adults heal by scar tissue formation. Good scars are hard to see. Scars can be minimized by using silicone and pressure. There are also otc treatments as we as vitamin e, most of these treatments have very imited effectiveness. Bio corneum is a fda approved treatment with spray on silicone with or without steroids.
