Different opinion: Adhd is a listing of behaviors. Therefore, it is in the eye of the beholder. Different observers can see different behaviors in different situations. Some children are consistently defective in attention and can never sit still. Some attend when they want to. There is no specific test that defines adhd. There are some differences in neurotransmitters and fmri is some cases but not all.

Disorder not disease: As dr. Villar wrote, adhd is a disorder. It is characterized by a set of observable behaviors that can cause mild to severe impairment and often responds to specific treatments. It almost certainly is not one disease, and the cause remains unknown; however, evidence strongly suggests that, present from early in life, it is diagnosed when expectations outstrip ability to focus and follow rules.

Yes: Adhd attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is often caused or worsened by fluctuating blood sugars as a result of sweet drinks. Reactive hypoglycemia leads to inability to concentrate as the brain is temporarily starved for glucose. Then the low sugar levels stimulate the release of adrenaline leading to the hyperactivity.
