No: If the dentist and patient follow the accepted ada guidelines for routine dental x-rays it is very safe.

No: Technology and awareness for radiation exposure has increased so the safety is optimal. Digital x-rays is even less exposure to radiation. So dental x-rays are very safe.

Nope: Nowadays, dental X-rays shoot at such a high speed of film or with digital X-rays there is hardly any radiation exposure. You get mor radiation from your television or cell phone. So unless you are getting radiation therapy for something or take a ridiculous number of dental xrays in the same spot...not to worry. As for radiation scatter...wear a lead apron and if you ask a thyroid collar.

Safe Diagnostic Tool: Dental x-rays are one of the lowest radiation dose studies performed. X-rays allow your dentist to see signs of the tooth disease or potential gum, bone problems that are not visible to the naked eye. Very important tool.
