What are the symptoms of dvt or post thrombotic syndrome?

Swelling and pain: Dvt causes acute swelling and pain. Post-phlebitic syndrome has these symptoms plus skin damage and possibly even ulceration. The post-phlebitic syndrome appears to be prevented by dissolving the DVT if in a large vein.
