Yes: As a dentist I have seen patients suffer all their life in the dental chair, by gagging easily and not being able to tolerate a dental impression. A bad experience in the dental office leads to longer time between visits and more dental problems. Tonsils use to be routinely removed 40 years ago and now doctors will wait for recurring problems due to the possible complications.
