Absolutely: The thicker mucous secretions inherent to cystic fibrosis (CF) can cause a relative obstruction in clearing the airway tree of particulate matter/germs. Similarly, these secretions can obstruct the passage of pancreatic enzymes into the intestine leading to mal-digestion.

Yes: It generally does affect both the mucus in the airways, the pancreas, and the gut. Chronic airway infection leading to lung failure, pancreatic problems leading to pancreatic insufficiency, and chronic constipation are very common problems in patients with cf. Treatment mitigates (but does not eliminate) the consequences of the disease for most, although for c. 5% a direct treatment exists.
