Usually 2-5 mo. : Everybody knows somebody whose kid slept through the night at 2 weeks, etc. Usually though it starts around 2 mo, with a 6 or 7 hour stretch. Some don't sleep until a couple months later. Putting cereal in the bottle does not help. Putting them in their own sleep place and having a normal sleep wind down period helps tremendously.

Sleep consolidation : thru self-regulation occurs between 1-4 mos. Corrected Age, age minus the # of weeks early, if he has a consistent bedtime. Read, rock, wipe out his mouth with a soft cloth after the last feed. Put him in his own crib drowsy, but awake. No bottle or pacifier. Allow him 5 min. to self-calm if he night-wakes. Do this before procedural memory develops at 5 mos. & learned behaviors at 6 mos.
