Genes and lifestyle: Obviously inheriting good genes for low cholesterol, low BP and no history of heart disease would be best . What you can do is follow a heart healthy lifestyle which means eating a low fat, low cholesterol diet, staying thin, exercising aerobically at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes and not smoking. Have your BP and full lipids checked and if elevated use diet, excise and medication to control.
