Bowel regimen: Constipation is common after colon surgery/ any surgery. A bowel regimen will be helpful. The goal 2 soft bowel movements daily. Use water/dilute juice (up to 1.5 liter/day), fiber, stool softner, laxative, less solid food, walking to achieve goal. Diagnosis of colon cancer stage 1 means monitoring, surveillance, oncology consult. Fever, worsening pain means you need to get evaluated.
