Unlikely but ask doc: Unlikely if it is your doctor might have told you, your doctor will do thyroid function tests if you have over active or under active thyroid will treat you with medications, if needed will do the scan of thyroid , don't worry follow your doctor's advice.

Not likely: Although thyroid cancer is a common malignancy, it is generally not accompanied by changes associated with thyroid function. However, it sounds like it would be a great idea, given your symptoms, for you to be evaluated by an endocrinologist, a specialist who can appropriately evaluate your thyroid and risk for cancer.
