You Can See An MD: There's no reason not to see your physician or an ob/gyn for routine health screening. It's to your benefit to check for stds, ensure normal cycles, and get basic information regarding best times to have children. You're correct that at your age you will not get infertility treatment or evaluation, but you'd benefit with knowing which days are your fertile ones, benefits of folic acid, etc.

Sure you can: Unless there is a known risk for infertility in your past, there is unlikely to be something drastically wrong. However strange things can happen. And so if you have tried for a year, certainly you can see an infertility specialist to do some testing. The stress of infertility is real at any age and it might may you feel better as well.
