Be careful.: An allergic reaction does not often happen the first time you take a medication. A reaction is much more likely to occur the next time you take that medication. So just because you did not have a reaction to bupropion name brand years ago, does not mean you are not sensitive to bupropion by whatever manufacturer now. Talk with your doctor to decide the safest course of action.

Lots of generics: Biggest problem for your situation is that there are many different versions of generic bupropion. Since most likely you are not allergic to active ingredient, because you are ok with branded wellbutrin, unless you know exactly which manufacturer made the version that caused rash, you will not have a reliable way to avoid it. Taking gsk's branded wellbutrin is easiest solution.
