Gym tones diet slims: Spot exercises, e.g. Crunches, tightens abs, doesn't lose fat. Spending cals loses fat-mix of cardio/endurance/intensive (intervals) with resistance (check w/doc if ok). Limit alcohol, simple sugars, e.g. Juice, drinks like gatorade, refined carbohydrates, fried, fatty, greasy. Emphasize lean protein, low fat/no fat dairy, whole grains, veggies, fruit, legumes, fluids. Long-term plan. Good luck.
