Is it that drug?: Often people taking mood stabilizers are also receiving 2nd generation antipsychotics which in themselves can cause weight gain. Check with your physician. Data on side effects for valproic acid and specifically depamide indicates less than 1% may have weight gain.Asimilar number may have weight loss as well.
