A member asked:

I have an 11 year old son just diagnosed with renal avm. can he play football?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Effect on Kidney ??: As a rule if you only have a single well functioning kidney it is good to avoid activities like tackle football, horse riding, polo, rodeo bronc riding & the like, all of which have a real but remote chance of injuring the remaining organ. I would seek out the advice of your pcp in this matter.
