Good for teeth.: If you have a soft brush and good toothpaste, you should be fine. Harm would come from hard bristles or abrasive toothpaste.

Depends on…: What kind of brush you're using (soft preferred), how vigorously you're brushing (firm but gentle), technique (brush upward/ downward from gums), type of toothpaste (avoid highly abrasive ones). Now advised to wait 15-30 minutes after eating b4 brushing to let saliva break down acids from foods. Should also floss between teeth at least once a day. See dentist twice a year for checkups.

Good: Brushing 3 times per day is very good for your teeth. Flossing once per day also needs to be part of your oral hygiene regimen. When you are brushing, be sure to get all surfaces of your teeth. Some of my patients seem to miss a lot of plaque when they brush, especially around the gumline.

Could be too much: The purpose of brushing is to remove the organized bacteria call plaque. Plaque develops this organization over a 24hr period. If the bacterial organization is disrupted the adverse effects are minimized. Too much brushing can be a problem if an abrasive toothpaste is used. Best bet is proper brushing and flossing with ada approved toothpaste twice a day.Technique is important, check with your dds.
