A 18-year-old female asked:

i've seen that rubbing your teeth with a banana peel will whiten them... true or is it a lie?

Not true: Let's be charitable and not call it a lie-- let's just say that someone is "misguided". If teeth are dark due to surface deposits, a more rational approach to whitening would be a professional dental cleaning followed by conscientious self-administered oral hygiene. If the teeth are intrinsically dark, an otc or professional whitening system is best, or application of veneers for severe staining.

Possibly: The minerals in the skin of the bananna are said to slightly whiten your teeth, but the results will not be as good as professional tooth whitening.

Payment plan: Any otc system will proabably be a waste of money. A professionally made tray & system may be able to painlessly whiten your teeth, and many dentists offer payment plans to allow you to make small monthly payments & get the smile of your dreams..
