A member asked:

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and im going though a very stressful and hard separation. can the stress and crying affect my baby?

Not likely: Sorry to hear what you are going through. Maternal stress has been associated with some complications in pregnancy such as preterm labor/delivery. However it has not been associated with any fetal effects on organ development. I encourage you to seek professional counseling, along with making sure your are doing everything to stay healthy. Ie exercise, adequate sleep and eating nutritious food.
