A member asked:

My 2 year old grandson has congenital adrenal hyperlasia and has very green stools pretty consistently but seems fine otherwise. should i be concerned? he takes a salt mixture and cortef (hydrocortisone).

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Green not bothersome: The stool generally runs the spectrum of the green to brown color spectrum based more on time in the gut than any other issue. The bile, a deep green at the start will gradually go thru lighter shades of green to yellow then brown as the gut bacteria oxidizes the bile. Green stools are very common in infancy & generally don't mean anything.
