How do treat the pulmonary edema that from a case of pneumonia? if the antibiotics knocked it out, and there is still edema.

Unusual to have both: Pulmonary edema is different from pneumonia and they usually don't occur together. If swelling from pneumonia occurs in the lung it will resolve as the pneumonia improves and the lung repairs itself. If edema is from acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) this can take up to 8-10 weeks to fully resolve and only time can really help this.

See below: Pneumonia takes a long time to resolve; even if you have completed your antibiotics, your body and your x-ray may not recover for 4-6 weeks. Pulmonary edema may be related to heart failure as well and be a separate problem requiring adjusting the heart medications.
