Preventing yeast: First, have a doctor confirm the diagnosis; other things can cause similar symptoms. Second, if there is an underlying condition causing yeast infections, take care of that (e.g. good control of diabetes, stop antibiotics). Otherwise, you'll need medication. There are several options other than miconazole (Monistat). Check with your doctor.
