Prevention is key: While Clonazepam can be helpful in short-term control of panic attacks, the literature shows that being on a drug in the ssri class, taken daily whether or not an attack is experienced. Medications to stop a panic attack, especially in the early stages of treatment, are also reasonable, though it is less likely to provide a long-term solution to your problems (like getting better, as you said).

What are you doing: to get well? Clonazepam helps to relax you but it doesn't cure the underlying problem. A combination of psychotherapy and a medication like an SSRI may help the underlying problems so that you get well.
