Breakthrough bleed: Missing oral contraceptive pills can result in breakthrough bleeding, which is not harmful. Since this has occurred, a back-up form of contraception, such as condoms is recommneded for the rest of this pack/cycle. Keep taking the pills as prescribed to prevent even more bleeding.
