A member asked:

If you a seizure medication with few side effects but no seizures should you switch medications?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be risky: If an anti-seizure medicine is preventing seizures, it is effective, and the very process of switching may cause more breakthrough seizures. If the adverse effects are severe, and you do not adjust, it would be of value to switch. But the new med may have new side effects. There are numerous medication choices. Discuss at length with your neurologist.
