If they do at all how does a fat burner work? some of them say they burn 2x or 5x what you burn which i find hard to believe because i go to the gym at least 4x a week and i run and lift and burn around 1000 calories on the treadmill alone so to multiply

Hard to believe.: It's all hype. Fat burners generally contain stimulants which will raise your metabolism much like coffee. This is short lived. If there were a magic bullet it would be obvious and everyone would be using it. Maybe we wouldn't have an obesity epidemic.
