No weight bearing: An ankle fracture usually presents with severe pain, swelling, bruising and the inability to bear any weight on that ankle/foot due to the severe pain.

Pain, swelling : Pain, swelling, and bruising are often associated with an ankle fracture. Severe deformity after an injury is a more obvious sign of a fracture and/or dislocation.
